Floyd Edward Osborn, son of the late Clara Mae Lowe and Ellis Faye Osborn, was born on January 27, 1924 in Carson, Iowa and passed away on November 2, 2005 at the Risen Son Christian Village in Council Bluffs, Iowa at the age of 81 years.
On April 1, 1945, Floyd was united in marriage to Violet Lavon Schwinderman at the Epworth Methodist Church in Council Bluffs, IA. On the day of his passing, Floyd and Violet had been married 60 years. To this marriage three children were born, a daughter Karen and two sons, Kenneth and Charles.
Floyd had been engaged in farming in the rural area between Carson and Treynor, Iowa his entire life. Not only was this the farm that both he and his father farmed their entire lives, but it was also his birthplace. In his earlier years, Floyd drove a truck for his brother Elmer, who had a garage in Carson. He was also very active in helping with F.F.A. groups when the children were in school in Carson. He attended the Pleasant Valley country school and then finished his school years, graduating from the Carson High School. Floyd also had a great love for fishing and loved to travel with Violet throughout the United States with their camper. During the past several years of his life, he and Violet spent their winters in Donna, Texas where not only was there an abundance of friends, but the weather was much warmer. Due to Floyd's great love for the soil of the earth, they always returned home each spring in time for planting and remained through the fall harvest.
His father Ellis, his mother Clara and his brother Elmer preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Violet of Council Bluffs, his son Kenneth Osborn of Treynor; daughter Karen Green and husband Jr. of Council Bluffs; son Charles Osborn and wife Tonya of Carlisle, IA; daughter-in-law Joyce of Treynor; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister Margaret Schneider of Santa Monica, CA; many nieces and nephews.
