"So sorry for your terrible loss. Nancy was such a wonderful woman and a great source of support for me and my mother, Judy. She will be greatly missed. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Suzanne"
Nancy Anna McGee, the only child of Carl Herbert and Dorothy (Miller) Hall was born on May 30, 1937 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The family moved to Glendale, California when she was five years old. Nancy graduated from Glendale High School in 1955. She worked various secretarial jobs in California, once briefly, at a radio station in San Diego, before starting her job in 1972, at Daniel Mann Johnson and Mendenhall, an architectural firm located in downtown Los Angeles.
Nancy met Roland McGee while working at DMJM. Through much persuasion by Roland, they were married on May 24, 1977 at Christ Lutheran Church in Long Beach, California. They made their home in Tujunga, California.
Nancy was a "people person". She saw goodness in everyone she met. Nancy always helped others in-need, regardless if they were as far away as the Hurricane Katrina victims, to someone needing a handout on the street corner nearby. Her friendliness and compassion made lifelong friends out of those whose lives she touched.
In 1998, Nancy retired from DMJM after nearly 35 years of service. After her retirement, friends she had made worldwide through her job, regularly kept in touch with her. Nancy enjoyed china painting, using her computer to keep in contact with friends and family, and sharing a wonderful life with Roland and their poodles, "Beau" and "Chardy".
Nancy and Roland had been married 30 years when Nancy passed away on October 13, 2007 at Verdigo Hills Hospital in Glendale, California, attaining the age of 70 years, 4 months and 13 days. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-laws Mary Johnson and Ann Zehrung; brothers-in-law Bill Bigelow and Leroy Scheafer.
