Roberta Dashner, age 67, passed away at her home in Glenwood, Iowa, on Tuesday morning, November 25, 2008.

Roberta Jean Dashner, one of seven children of Randel Ernest Reinert and Helen Luella (Niemoller) Reinert, was born on February 12, 1941 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She grew up on her parent's farm near Mineola, Iowa and graduated from the Glenwood Community High School in 1959. Following high school, she worked as a secretary for L.T. Genung and later worked in several offices at the Mills County Court House.

Roberta and Sherrill Dashner were married on February 7, 1960 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Glenwood. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Justin Reinert and Jill Suzanne. The couple later divorced in 1973.

Roberta was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Dorcas Circle, where she loved to quilt with the ladies. She enjoyed playing bridge, loved Mills County History, and was a proud member of the Republican Party.

In 1994, Roberta was elected as Mills County Recorder. She served as Recorder for twelve years and retired in 2006.

Surrounded by her family, Roberta passed away at her home in Glenwood on November 25, 2008 at the age of 67 years, 9 months, and 13 days. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law, Dan Hiley and Merlynn Bintz.

Roberta is survived by her son Justin Dashner of Glenwood and his son Corey Dashner of College Station, TX; her daughter Jill Dashner and husband Jeffrey Schlobohm of Cedar Falls, IA; former spouse Sherrill Dashner and wife Criss of Pacific Junction, IA; brothers, Eldred Reinert of Council Bluffs, Dwayne Reinert and wife Waunita and Gordon Reinert and wife Karen, all of Glenwood; sisters Carolyn Bintz of Minden, IA, Joan Reinert and Janice Hiley of Council Bluffs, IA; and aunt Lucille Lyle of Indio, CA; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Memorials suggested to:
Glenwood Public Library or the American Cancer Society

Interment in the Glenwood Cemetery.
