Kenneth Harrill, age 62, of Thornton, Colorado, formerly of Carson, Iowa, passed away on August 26, 2009 in Colorado.
Kenneth Leroy Harrill, one of nine children of Sherman Cress Harrill and Neomia (Jones) Harrill, was born on July 17, 1947 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Kenny attended high school in Carson and following school began working as an over-the-road truck driver for Hunt Transportation.
On March 3, 1973, Kenny and Joyce Elaine Wilber were united in marriage at the Henderson Christian Church in Henderson, Iowa. The couple made their home in rural Henderson and they were blessed with three children, Wesly William, Heather Elaine, and Hilary Renee. Kenny worked at the rock quarry for Schildberg Construction. In September of 1983, he began working for a car transport company and moved to Thornton, Colorado. The following year, his family joined him. Kenny retired in 2005. In July of 2008, he was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease.
Kenny and Joyce had been married 36 years when he passed away on August 26, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, Colorado. He had attained the age of 62 years, 1 month, and 9 days.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Laura Isaacson-Harrill-Parker; brothers, Ricky Harrill and Donald Harrill; step-brothers, Ronnie Isaacson, Larry Isaacson, and Bobby Isaacson.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Joyce Harrill of Thornton, CO; son Wes Harrill of Carson, IA; daughters, Heather Harrill and Hilary Harrill, both of Thornton; brothers, Eldon Harrill and wife Dixie of Plattsmouth, NE, Bob Harrill and wife Mary of Riverdale, ND, Porter Harrill and wife Darla of Carson, Lane Harrill of Lakeland, TN; sisters, Glenda Whittington and husband Wayne of De Land, FL, and Debra Harrill of Council Bluffs, IA; sister-in-law Kris Harrill of Conway, MO; stepsisters, Linda McDaniel and husband Gary of Arvada, CO and Martha Isaacson of Carson; step brother Monte Isaacson and wife Joyce of Carson; stepsisters-in-law, Gayle Isaacson of Hopkins, SC; Alice Isaacson of Maryville, CA, and Trish Isaacson of Hugo, OK: other relatives and many friends.
There is no scheduled visitation.
A memorial fund has been established.
Hertz Funeral Home of Carson in charge of arrangements.
