Larry Anderson, age 62, of Tabor, Iowa died on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at the Hospice with Heart Hospice House in Glenwood.

Lawrence Edward Anderson, one of two children of Dorothy Mae (Austin) Anderson and Lawrence Alphonse Anderson, was born in Salina, Kansas on June 10, 1947. Larry grew up in Fremont, Nebraska where he was a member of Demolay and an Eagle Scout. He graduated from the Fremont Community High School in 1965.

Larry and Carol Lee Halsey were married in Kearney, Nebraska on October 29, 1966. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Charles Jon and Julie Ellen. Larry was attending Kearney State College and while in school, also worked as a laundry delivery driver, car salesman, and was a hospital orderly. Larry graduated with his degree in Education in 1970 and began working as a teacher and wrestling coach in Dorchester, Nebraska.

Larry and Marsha Marie Snodgrass were married in Omaha, Nebraska on May 25, 1990. Their marriage was blessed with three children; Carolyn Mae, Donavan Matthew, and Allyson Marie. They lived in several Nebraska communities and Larry worked in a care center for the mentally handicapped. He took a position as a Resident Treatment Worker at the Glenwood Resource Center in Glenwood, Iowa and the family lived in several southwest Iowa communities until finally settling in Tabor, Iowa. Larry was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Glenwood and the Knights of Columbus. He loved to golf, fish, and research World War II. Larry also enjoyed ham radio, reading science fiction, writing, and "surfing the net." Larry and Marsha had been married 19 years when Larry was diagnosed with stage four cancer. Larry died at Hospice with Heart in Glenwood on October 29, 2009 at the age of 62 years, 4 months, and 19 days. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Anderson.

Larry is survived by his wife Marsha Anderson of Tabor, IA; father Lawrence Anderson of Fremont, NE; children, Charles Anderson and wife Jennifer of Nashville, TN, Julie Buss and husband Clayton of Lincoln, NE; and Carolyn Anderson, Donavan Anderson, and Allyson Anderson, all of Tabor; three grandsons; sister Rochelle Anderson of Bellevue, NE; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

A memorial fund has been established.

Interment in the Tabor Cemetery.
