Memorial services for Kenneth Evans, age 84, and wife Betty (Hanpeter) Evans, age 79, of Overland Park, KS, formerly of Malvern, will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, June 19, 2010, at the Malvern United Methodist Church with interment in the Malvern Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to the Malvern United Methodist Church or the Malvern Cemetery Association.
Kenneth Edward Evans, one of three children of James Harry Evans and Charlotte Louise (Morton) Evans, was born on June 17, 1925 in Malvern, Iowa.
Betty Ann (Hanpeter) Evans, one of six children of Armin and Paula Hanpeter, was born on May 25, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Kenneth and Betty were married on March 28, 1951. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Kenneth Harry, Sharna Marie, David, Janet, and Lisa.
Kenneth passed away on Monday, April 5, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Betty; son Kenneth Harry Evans; daughter Sharna Marie Evans; and brother James Harry Evans, Jr.
Betty passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Kenneth Harry Evans; daughter Sharna Marie Evans; and sister-in-law Sue Hanpeter.
Memorial services for Betty were held at the First Family Church in Overland Park on January 10, 2009, and at Christ Memorial Lutheran Church in St. Louis, Missouri on January 12, 2009.
Kenneth and Betty are survived by their children, David Evans and wife Carol of Overland Park, Janet Barton and husband William of Hondo, TX, and Lisa Evans of Portland, OR; five grandchildren, Shawna and Ryan Barton, and Garrett, Spencer and Calyssa Evans; Kenneth's sister Mary Lou Downing and husband Robert of Linden, IA; sister-in-law Babs Evans of Kimberling City, MO; Betty's sister Dorothy M. Hanpeter; her brothers, William Hanpeter, Robert Hanpeter and wife Charlotte, Paul Hanpeter, and Edward Hanpeter and wife Joan; nieces and nephews; and a host of special relatives and friends.
