Dennis Myron Albers, one of four children of Myron Ora Albers and Lois Lavonne (Hoffman) Albers, was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on November 14, 1956. Dennis grew up in Persia, Iowa and graduated from Tri-Center High School in 1974. Following school, he worked at Walt's Service Station before beginning his 33 year career in the operations department for the Omaha Public School District.
Dennis and Andrea Ione Feldman were married in Minden, Iowa on October 15, 1977. They made their home in Council Bluffs for a year before moving to the Christensen family farm near Oakland, Iowa. The couple was blessed with two daughters, Sarah and Tracy. They were members of the Sharon Presbyterian Church, where Dennis served as an Elder and Trustee. He loved the farm and enjoyed tinkering with tractors and other equipment. Dennis loved to garden, visit with neighbors, and spend time with his family. He and Andrea enjoyed farm sales and antiquing. They had been married 33 years when Dennis died at the Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospital in Council Bluffs on February 11, 2011. He had attained the age of 54 years, 2 months, and 28 days. He was preceded in death by his father, Myron Albers.
Dennis is survived by his wife Andrea Albers of Oakland, IA; daughters, Sarah Burbridge and husband Tyler of Council Bluffs, and Tracy Petersen and husband Jason of Jacksonville, IA; mother, Lois Albers of Persia, IA; sisters, Karen Bruck and husband Bruce of Portsmouth, IA and Kay James and husband Michael of Council Bluffs; brother David Albers and wife Peggy of Persia; brother-in-law Rodney Feldman and wife Kristy of Harlan, IA; and sister-in-law Earleen Thomas and husband Terry of Magnolia, TX; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; other relatives and friends.
A memorial fund has been established.
