Elizabeth Barten
July 13, 1913 - May 4, 2012

Elizabeth Barten, of Antigo, died Friday, May 4, 2012 at Rosalia Gardens under the care of LeRoyer Hospice and surrounded by her family. She was 98 years old. She was born on July 13, 1913 in Milwaukee, a daughter of Andrew and Katherine (Movering) Neidorfler. She married George Barten on August 27, 1932 in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on August 31, 1998.

Following her husband's retirement the couple moved to Waupaca on Dake Lake for four years. The couple then moved to North Fort Meyers, Florida for 22 years and in 1995 moved to the Antigo and White Lake area. She was a member of St. James and St. Stanislaus Catholic Parish, White Lake.

She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, oil painting and sewing.

Survivors include two daughters, Dolores M. Hastings and Georgiann (Joseph) Skarlupka both of White Lake; eight grandchildren, Marie (Adam) Weiner, Carolyn (Ralph) Buttafoco, Bonnie Hastings, Lynn (Rob) D'Amato, Joseph (Kara) Skarlupka IV, Donald (Renee) Skarlupka, Susan (Thomas Jr.) Stark and Sandra (Randy) Rea; 21 great-grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Borbash, Milwaukee.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Korom and a brother, Joseph Neidorfler.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Reverend Roger Strebel officiating. Burial will take place in Langlade Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Memorials in Mrs. Barten's name may be directed to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
