Richard Keech
July 17, 1933 - January 20, 2008

Richard Lee Keech age 74, son of Claude and Gertrude (Hopkins) Keech was born in Milnor ND on July 17, 1933 died at his home on January 20, 2008 after experiencing COPD for 3 years and a short battle with cancer. Dick married Karen Ferguson June 1, 1958, in Boone, Iowa. He lived and farmed for Louie A and Bessie Sinn for over 57 years. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Past master of Kohinoor Lodge #576 A.F.&A.M. also formerly a member of White Shrine, Past Patron of Eastern Star, and a 32 Degree Mason in the York Rite. He was President of the Story City Saddle Club for many years. Dick enjoyed showing horses, playing cards, computer solitaire, dancing, ISU Women's Basketball, every event his grandchildren were involved with, spending time with family and friends. Dick and his son Kent had a custom baling business for the past 15 years. While farming Dick had a cow calf herd and enjoyed as a hobby showing quarter horses which was something that was past unto his daughter and granddaughter.
Dick is survived by his wife Karen, one daughter Julie Kay Keech two sons Kevin and (Diana Ness) Keech and Kent and (Karen Auchstetter) Keech two very special grandchildren Levi and Mariah also mom Bessie Sinn all of Story City, One sister Mrs. Leonard (Sandy) Madden Jr. of Boone, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday Jan. 24 with the family present at Grace United Methodist Church in Story City with a Masonic Service at 8:00 pm at the Church. Funeral service will be 1:30 pm Friday at the church with burial at Story City Cemetery.
Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family with the arrangements.
