Ted Reif
May 2, 1925 - June 6, 2012

Ted Reif, of Antigo, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at his home. He was 87 years old. He was born on May 2, 1925 in Antigo, a son of William and Violet (Hyckes) Reif. He married Evelyn Prasalowicz on August 21, 1948 at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in Antigo. She survives.

He served in the Pacific Theatre with the United States Navy on the USS Callaghan during WWII from July 17, 1943 to March 11, 1946 and earned the Purple Heart medal.

Following military service Mr. Reif worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad as a brakeman and conductor for 37 years, retiring in 1983.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf, fishing, watching westerns on television and solving word and number puzzles.

Survivors including his wife are a daughter Debbie (Dennis) Bula, Three Lakes; two sons Michael (Robin) Reif, Appleton, Steven Reif, Hatley; a brother Harry (Jeannie) Reif, Belle Vista, AK; three Grandchildren Danielle (Adam French) Bula, New Richmond, Wesley Reif, Hatley, Jessica (Brett) Koss, Wausau.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Betty Grant; two brothers William and Robert Reif.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 12 noon at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Omer Kelley officiating.

Antigo veterans will conduct military rites following the services.

Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
