Bernadine "Bernie" Walker, of Antigo, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Langlade Hospital. She was 85 years old. She was born on November 16, 1926 in Polar, a daughter of Frank and Frances (Kohler) Muench. She married Robert Walker on May 2, 1953 at St. John Catholic Church in Antigo. He survives.
She was raised in Polar and worked at Langlade County Hospital as a young lady. She worked in Milwaukee at Allen Bradley Company for five years followed by Eder Industries for 19 years.
Mrs. Walker returned to Langlade county in 1991. She enjoyed playing cards at the Elcho Senior Citizen Center and was an avid bowler.
Survivors including her husband are four daughters Gail (Tom) Worden, Post Falls, Idaho, Kay (Jeff) Krebs, Kerrville, Texas, Cynthia (Mike) Machos, Plover, Jill Schultz, New Berlin; a son Robert (Jaime) Walker, Amberg; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters Lorraine Mundt, Milwaukee, Marie Kolz, Antigo; a brother Aloysious (Shirley) Muench, Pelican Lake.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther Bera, Clara Pesl; three brothers Clayton, Frank Jr., and Clarence Muench.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. William Brunner officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3:30 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Bradley Funeral Home and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
A parish wake service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday also at the funeral home.
