Neil Olsen, of Elcho, died Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Langlade Hospital. He was 82 years old. He was born on September 13, 1930 in Marinette, a son of Nels and Minnie (Hanson) Olsen. He married Priscilla Brendemihl on May 19, 1951. She survives.
He was a graduate of Marinette High School with the class of 1948.
Mr. Olsen was an electrician most of his life having worked for Nash-Kelvinator in Kenosha and General Motors in Indianapolis, Indiana developing electronics for jet engines. He also worked for mining companies in Hoyt Lakes, Minn and Ishpeming, Mich. For 30 years he worked in Milwaukee for Lemberg Electric in the commercial construction field. In 1992 he moved to Post Lake where he built his retirement home.
He enjoyed working with his hands, using tools to create machinery, and passing along his skills to his children. His hobbies were to help family and neighbors with their projects.
Survivors including his wife are four daughters Patricia (Marty) Kroening, Milwaukee, Kathy (Wally) Olejnik, Pelican Lake, Susan (Mike Wainwright) Cronin, Monticello, Cheryl (Wayne) Shewell, Waldo; a son Jerome Olsen, Milwaukee; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a sister Florence Butler, Phoenix, Ariz; a brother Howard (Pat) Olsen, Menominee, Michigan; a brother-in-law Dwayne (Shirley) Brendemihl, Menominee, Michigan; a sister-in-law Sharon (Bob) Schomer, Elcho.
He was preceded in death by a grandson David Olejnik, a brother Roger Olsen, and a sister Margaret Magnuson.
A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremiah Worman officiating. Burial will take place in Elcho Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
