Sun Prairie-Carl Mueske, age 82, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2012 after a long illness. Carl was born on September 7, 1930 in Merrill, WI the son of Carl and Augusta (Weiland) Mueske. On October 2, 1951, he and Patricia Yaatenen were united in marriage in Milwaukee, WI and together they raised 4 children. He served his country with the U.S.A.F. from 1947 until retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1969. Carl then was employed with GTE as a technician for 18 years. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Retired Enlisted Association, the American Military Association and Disabled American Veterans. In his spare time, he enjoyed country music, bird watching, golfing, fishing, woodworking and word puzzles. His grandchildren enjoyed his sense of humor and story telling. Carl is survived by his children Lisa Mueske Ruggiero, Susan (William) Lockwood, Karen Mueske and Anthony (Gabby) Mueske; grandchildren, Alyssa Ruggiero, Olivia Ruggiero, Christa Ruggiero, Kelly Lockwood, Jenny Andres, Sarah Lockwood, Justin (Kristine) Lockwood, Ryan Lockwood, Anton Erickson, Elijah Erickson and Chuck Hankins; great-grandchildren Justus, Camdyn and Jude Lockwood, Mason and Adler Andres-Lockwood: his sisters Lorraine Berry and Elaine Tewes; other relatives and friends. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and brother Ralph Mueske. A special thank you to all of his friends at Meadowmere Assisted Living for their special care and hospitality. A special thanks to his nurse Meagan and the many other caring staff from Agrace Hospice. A celebration of Carl's life will be held on Monday, October 15, 2012 at the Cress Funeral Home, Sun Prairie at 6:00 PM. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-6 PM at the funeral home. Memorial to Toy for Tots would be appreciated.
