Bernice Juleen
March 7, 1925 - May 25, 2009

March 7, 1925, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late Cyril Frederick and Elizabeth Eliza (Ennals) Greening. She received her early education in Seward Elementary and later attended and graduated from South High School in Minneapolis in the Class of 1942.

On June 3, 1944, Bernice was united in marriage to John Richard Juleen in Minneapolis. This marriage was blessed with two sons, Richard and Mark. In 1948, Bernice and Richard made their home in Lino Lakes, Minnesota. For almost thirty years, Bernice worked as a small business secretary/bookkeeper. Her last employer was the Metropolitan Transit Authority Credit Union in the Twin Cities which she retired from in 1990. On May 12, 2000, John passed away. After his death, Bernice continued to live in Lino Lakes until moving to Windom in 2004. In 2007, she moved to Mikkelson Manor. In 2006, Bernice was diagnosed with Leukemia and lived with the disease until being admitted to the Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, where she passed away peacefully on May 25, 2009, at the wonderful age of 84.

Through the years Bernice had many enjoyments in life which included sewing, crocheting, knitting, crafts, baking cakes as a side business, playing cards, reading, bowling, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends.

Bernice is survived by her two sons, Richard Juleen and his wife, Jackie of Henderson, NV; Pastor Mark Yackel-Juleen and his wife, Vicar Margaret of Windom; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Bernice is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Juleen; one brother, Fred Greening; and one sister, Iris Kushner.

"To Bernice Juleen Family I am so glad that I was able to get to know Bernice in the last year and half. She was a lovely lady, so plesant and quiet. She didnt say much but you could tell she was a wonderful and kind lady. I will miss having her play cards with us on Thursdays."

"When our family would visit the Yackel-Juleen's and Bernice was part of the gathering she would sit quietly with a twinkle in her eye. A conversation was not hard to have with Bernice and with her soft spoken voice one could hear the pride she had in her family."
