Emma Iola Cooper, 79, of Keokuk, died at 9:30 AM Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at Montrose Health Center in Montrose, Iowa.
Emma was born April 5, 1935, in Holly, Colorado, the daughter of Clarence L. and Esther O. Howe Brunson. She married Paul Edward Cooper in Carson City, Nevada. He preceded her in death on February 10, 1993.
Emma had lived in Keokuk since 1979. She had owned a consignment shop in Keokuk, E&T Nearly New. She was of the Protestant faith and attended New Testament Christian Church. She enjoyed television, especially westerns, wrestling and rodeo. She loved to read her Bible and tell stories.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda Cervantez and husband Rudy of San Jose, California, Sharon Gray and husband Randy of Keokuk and Deborah Daines and husband Dennis of Hamilton, Illinois; one brother, Fred Brunson of Reno, Nevada; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Patricia Ray.
A celebration of her life will be at 2:00 PM Friday, December 14, 2012, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center located at 917 Blondeau Street with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 14, 2012, from 1:00 to 2:00 at the funeral home.
