WILTON, Iowa -- Richard L. Garrison, 71, of Wilton, died on Friday, December 14, 2012, at Trinity Health Systems, Bettendorf.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at the United Methodist Church, Wilton. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2012, at the Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton. Additional visitation will be held from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at the church.

Richard was born on April 27, 1941, in Muscatine, the son of Leo and Ellen Moore Garrison. He graduated from Muscatine High School.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Security Agency.

He married Karen J. Bicknese on April 10, 1961, in Wilton.

Richard and Karen owned Garrison's Garden Market and Greenhouses in Wilton.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Karen Garrison of Wilton; five sisters Juanita West of Muscatine, JoAnn Lutrel and husband, Charles, of Letts, Rozita Bergen of Denmark, Leola Garner of Columbus Junction and Charlene Cozad of Muscatine; his brothers, William Garrison and Nancy Phillips of West Liberty, Leo Garrison and wife, Barb, of Marshalltown, and Tony Garrison and wife, Mary, Wapello.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jeffrey Garrison; and three sisters, Mary McGourty, Jackie Brown and Roberta McCormick.
