"Youth group at Pompano First Church of the Nazarene- many good memories of Kathy on the Chior Tours. I remember many times spending time with Kathy and Tara at their house with my sister Jackie Lachance. We will always remember you, Kathy. We love the Merritts always. "
"My name is Christy. 34 years ago, my mom made my sister and I knock on the door of the home 2 doors down to ask the girls living there if they wanted to be friends... seems like yesterday to me. Kathy, Tara, myself and my sister were inseparable as young girls. We roller skated in the street, we played hide and seek, we climbed trees and got into our fair share of trouble. I wouldn't trade a single moment for the world. Thank you Mom for making me knock on that door. Had you not, I would have never had the opportunity to know such an incredible girl. To Kathy's immediate and extended family... you are and will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace Kathy... until we meet again... xo"
"Kathy is my cousin, and as children we were the best of friends. She was only six months older than me, but taught me so much. Everything and every situation was an adventure to Kathy. She was always eager to be the first to try something new and to have fun doing it. She was a positive light in this world and she will be sorely missed. Her zest for life and infectious personality will live on forever in my memories and the memories of all who knew her. To know her, was to love her. See you later, Cous. I love you. "
"Kathy was full of life and laughter! She was kind to others and generous to a fault. Jumping over fireworks and singing in the rain, she enjoyed life fully. Her daughters, Carolyne and Katelyn, were her world and she loved them with all of her heart. Kathy made sure that the homeless woman in Lighthouse Point always had a hot Thanksgiving day meal and neighbors had homemade Christmas cookies. Kathy was truly special and will be dearly missed by all who had the opportunity to know her. "
