Marvin P. Moran
May 29, 1929 - May 18, 2006

Marvin Patrick Moran was born May 29, 1929, the son of Charles and Ellen (Pederson) Moran on the family farm northwest of Emmetsburg. He attended Ruthven Country School and Ruthven Community School. Marvin joined the United States Army in 1951, serving during the Korean War.
On October 13, 1956, Marvin was united in marriage to Katherine Engleman at Assumption Catholic Church in Emmetsburg. To this union three sons and a daughter were born. Marvin and Katherine farmed northwest of Emmetsburg until they retired in ___.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the American Legion Post # 162. Marvin enjoyed farming, hunting, and everything about nature. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.
On Thursday, May 18, 2006, Marvin Moran passed away at Parc Hall in Emmetsburg after a lengthy illness.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife; Katherine of Emmetsburg; three sons: Pat of Emmetsburg, Mike and wife, Nori Van Den Hurk of Emmetsburg and Tim and wife Jennifer of Spencer; daughter, Joan Feldman of Ruthven; five granddaughters; brother, Leo Moran of Emmetsburg; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Moran of Graettinger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Don Moran; sister, Velda Kunz and an infant brother, Francis.
