Florence Joyce
May 29, 1918 - May 13, 2006

Florence Cecilia Joyce was born May 29, 1918, in Graettinger, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Quinn) Nolan. She attended the Suss Country School near Graettinger.

On June 12, 1939, Florence was united in marriage to William Joyce at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Graettinger. The couple farmed southwest of Graettinger where they raised their seven children. In March of 1980, they moved to Graettinger. Florence was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. Florence enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers, dolls and antiques. She loved garage sales and the company of her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Joe (Darlene) of Emmetsburg, Paul (Ann) of Graettinger, Mary Leonard (George) of Salix, IA, Larry of Graettinger, Julie Ann Adams of Willis, TX, Richard (Pam) of Altoona, IA and Robert of Manhattan, KS; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bill; 10 sisters: Mary Lowenburg, Bridget Smith, Ann Johnson, Anastasia Thiel, Johanna Donahue, Nora Brennan, Bernadette Hughes, and three infant sisters; two brothers, John and Robert Nolan; and one great-grandson.
