Sidney was a member of the Cylinder Lions Club for many years, and he was a charter member of the Lost Island Prairie Wetlands Nature Center. He enjoyed camping with family and friends, working with stained glass, involvement with Western Iowa Tourism, going on antique tractor rides, and more recently, spending time at Okoboji.
