Joe left this life on January 6, 2010 to celebrate his 90th birthday with Our Lord and his parents Joseph A. and Rose. Loving husband of Catherine (nee Weber) for 60 years. Cherished dad of Carol (George) Weiland and James (Janis) Hepp. Proud grandpa of Aaron (Bonnie) Weiland, Diana (Robert) Steffes, Christine Weiland, Dennis Weiland, Alex Weiland, Maggie (Kent) Olson, Charlie Hepp, and Ann Hepp; and great-grandpa of Lily Olson and the anticipated Steffes twins. Brother-in-law of Mildred Ottenbacher, Bette Weber and Rita (Fritz) Tenhagen. Also loved by other family and friends. Visitation at CHRIST KING CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2604 N. Swan Blvd. on Thurs., Jan. 14, at 3:30PM until time of Funeral Mass at 7PM. Meet at the Funeral Home on Fri. at 10:30AM for procession to Holy Cross Cemetery. Joe was a Navy veteran of WWII. He served 36 years with the Milwaukee Fire Department where he was active in the St. Jude League. He belonged to the Retired Fire and Polioe Assoc., and he was involved in the Catholic Knights. Joe also had a special interest in trains. Joe loved to share his time with family and all his friends, especially those at Young at Heart, with a "banjo on his knee."[more]
