Karl E. Vohringer, Jr., 57, of DeWitt, Iowa, died on Monday, March 4, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. A celebration of Karl's life will be held at 11 A.M., Friday, March 8, 2013, from the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. on Friday, March 8, 2013, from the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Burial will be at the Buckhorn Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, Iowa. Karl Ernest Vohringer, Jr. was born on July 24, 1955 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Karl, Sr. and Verna (Howell) Vohringer. He attended school in Baldwin and then Maquoketa schools. He married Cindy Wiese in Clinton, Iowa. They divorced and he later married Carla Clark in Clinton, Iowa. Karl first worked for A to Z Salvage Yard in Clinton for several years. He then was a self-employed mechanic for many years and for the past 9 years had worked for Nugent Auto Sales in Maquoketa. Karl loved to work on junk cars. He was a collector of bells and in his earlier years had raced stock cars.
