Shirley Darlene Johnson

Shirley Darlene Johnson, 82, of Bristow, Iowa, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the Dumont Wellness Center in Dumont, Iowa. She was born August 2, 1930, in Parkersburg, Iowa, to Obadiah and Mary (Meyer) Truax. Shirley attended Bristow Schools in Bristow, Iowa. She was united in marriage in 1945 to Clarence Johnson. Shirley was a homemaker raising six children and caring for her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was a member of the Bristow Church of Christ. Shirley is survived by her son Keith Johnson of Aredale, daughter Linda (Bob) Conger of Osceola, daughter Nancy (Richard) Rieken of Bristow, daughter Joyce (Scott) Fenneman of Bristow, daughter-in-law DeeAnn Johnson of Benld, Illinois, sister Elizabeth Kriens of Des Moines, sister Louise (Dale) Carrison of Olathe, Kansas, sister-in-law Delores Truax of O'Fallen, Illinois, 17 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons John and Keevin, grandson Greg, three brothers and three sisters. g & helping Grandkids with crafts, watching Days of our Lives, going to any of the Grandkids games (no matter what the weather conditions were), & being surrounded by her kids & Grandkids. While living at the Care Center the last couple of years she enjoyed crafts, going to the Casino, playing bingo & especially spending time with her dear friend Edna. Burial will take place at the Oakhill Cemetery in rural Bristow, Iowa.
