ed in the United States Army during WWII graduating from Officer Candidate School in 1946. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Lloyd and Lola settled in Cedar Rapids where Lloyd took a job with a fledgling company, Collins Radio now Rockwell-Collins. He worked for Collins Radio for 23 years, as an accounting supervisor. Lloyd and Lola then opened Lloyd's Fish and Chips in Cedar Rapids, expanding the business to include two shops. They later sold the business and Lloyd took a position with J-Tek Associates Inc. where he worked as controller until his retirement at the age of 72 in 1991. Lloyd was a member of the Kenwood Park United Methodist Church and served in the Methodist Men, including as a financial officer for many years. Lloyd was an avid Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan. He will be remembered by friends and family as an honest, caring father, husband, and grandfather and a dependable hardworking employee. He cherished his poker games and golfing groups. Lloyd's greatest achievement however was his dedication, and the self-sacrificing care he gave Lola as she battled Multiple Sclerosis. His care allowed her to remain in the home until nearly the end of their 66 years of marriage. He will be greatly missed by his children, their spouses, his grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many friends. Survivors include a son, Craig Larson (Nita) of Muscatine; a daughter Julie (Rob) Schwartz of Sheridan, Wyoming; two grandchildren, Natalie and Christopher Larson; and two step-grandchildren, Joe and Otto Schwartz. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lola; a brother, Lawrence; and three sisters, Bessie Ross, Edith Rassmussen, and Elsie Rogers.
