Judy Busse

Judy Ann (Purrington) Busse was born on July 13, 1949, in Windom, Minnesota to Lowell and Agnes (Rehnelt) Purrington. She was baptized and later confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Windom. She received her education from Windom Public Schools where she graduated with the Class of 1967. On November 16, 1968, Judy was united in marriage to Roger Busse at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Windom. This marriage was blessed with three daughters, Kelly, Kim, and Kari. After their marriage, Roger and Judy continued to live in Windom where Judy was a child care provider for over thirty-four years. She suffered a severe stroke and was forced to retire in August of 2004. On July 1, 2011, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. Judy passed away with her family by her side on Friday evening, March 29, 2013, at her home in Windom at the age of 63. Judy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Windom. She was also a member of the Day Care Association and active in Girl Scouts. Judy enjoyed traveling, collecting items, playing cards, Wheel of Fortune, and goofing around. She is survived by her loving husband of forty-four years, Roger Busse of Windom; three daughters, Kelly Thongvivong and her husband, Seng, of Windom; Kim Giese and her husband, Greg, of St. James; and Kari Bouavichith of Chaska; 9 grandchildren, Kelsie Aamot and her husband Shea Aamot, Alexis Thongvivong, Dominique Bouavichith, Brandon Thongvivong, Destinee Bouavichith, Miranda Giese, Cameron Giese, and Kianee Bouavichith; three brothers, Alvin Purrington and his wife, Ann, of Windom; Dennis Purrington and his wife, Kathy, of Windom; and Gene Purrington of Windom; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell and Agnes Purrington. Blessed be the memory of Judy Busse.
