Gloria Faye Stogdill
Gloria passed away on Thursday morning, following a brave battle with cancer. Gloria Faye Stogdill, daughter of Lloyd Leroy Cox and Pauline Faye (Blackerby) Lohman Cox, was born on October 25, 1950 in Fort Calhoun, Nebraska. She passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at her home in Shenandoah following a bout with cancer at age 62. Her early life was spent in the Fort Calhoun area before the family moved to Omaha, Nebraska where she graduated from North High School with the Class of 1967. Gloria was blessed with two daughters, Nancy Jo and Michele Renee. In 1979 she married Douglas Scheel and became a step-mother to Mark and Wayne Scheel. Gloria began working at Qwest in Omaha in 1971. She would later go back to school, receiving her Business Degree from Metropolitan Community College in 1982. She retired from Qwest in 2001 as an IT Technician. She enjoyed her retirement for several years until becoming the "Hallmark lady" at Wal-Mart from 2009 to 2012. e she enjoyed reading, decorating, shopping trips with Delaney, Ashley, Michele and Nancy. Gloria very much enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter and great granddaughter. She was also very involved with the Omaha Amputee Golf Association and liked to volunteer her time to help at all the events. Preceding her in death were her father, Lloyd Cox; mother-in-law; and grandparents, Thomas and Cordie May Cox. Survivors include her husband, Dale E. Stogdill of Shenandoah; two daughters, Nancy Williams of Omaha, NE and Michele Wasserburger of Shenandoah; six stepchildren, Dale, Jr. Stogdill of Shenandoah, Clinton Stogdill, Amber L. Mutchler-Stogdill and Dawn M. Stogdill, all three of Florida, and Mark Scheel and Wayne Scheel, both of Arizona; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
