George Cuccia

George Cuccia, age 94 passed away at home with his family by his side on Thursday, May 2 2013. He was born in Madison's Greenbush to Henry and Laura Cuccia on Sept 11, 1918. George worked for Schlitz Distributors for over 40 years. He was united in marriage on June 9, 1939 to his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Alice Cavanaugh. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, bowler, and the longest member of the Italian Workman's Club, being a member for over 73 years. George was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alice, brothers John, Paul, infant sister Mary, special uncle Vito, and many other relatives and friends. He is survived by daughter Laura, and sons Henry (Karen), George (Gertie), and Rich, grandchildren; Rana (Stijn Vanhauwaert), Jennifer (Barry Dobbs), Robb (Amanda Lorimer), Natalie, Valerie, Shane, Taylor, Ryan, great grandchildren, Noah, Liam, Nicolas, Cameron, and Grace. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 5313 Flad Ave. Madison, WI 53711, with Fr. Salvatore Cuccia, O.Praem, presiding.
