Madison - James P. Lynch, age 96, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Oakwood Village East in Madison. He was born on March 22, 1917 in Madison, the son of John and Agnes (Gratton) Lynch.
James was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 531 and a member of the Kiwanis. He enjoyed being a member of the Madison Lapidary and Mineral Club, golfing, and bowling. He was also a 50 year veteran of working Wisconsin football games at Camp Randall.
James is survived by his daughters, Kathleen (Ray) Maffet and Eileen (James) Burmeister; 5 grandchildren; and a brother, John. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice; parents; and sisters; Elizabeth Lynch, Theresa Lynch, Mary Buenzli, Cilia Hossman, Margaret Reis, Susan Clark and Rosella Kratochvil.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 405 S. Owen Dr., Madison, on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. with Msgr. Kenneth J. Fiedler presiding. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. A visitation will be held at church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the mass.
