Thomas Luke Fitzpatrick ROCHESTER, Minnesota -- Thomas Luke Fitzpatrick, 65, passed away in Rochester, Minnesota, on June 12, 2013. Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at The Camera Corner, 3523 Eastern Ave., Davenport. Tom was born on October 13, 1947, in Neponset, Illinois, the oldest child of Thomas J. and Priscilla Nelson Fitzpatrick. He moved with his family to Kewanee, Illinois, and later to Muscatine. There, at the age of 12 he helped his father establish the original The Camera Corner. Tom graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Knox College in Galesburg, Ill. After his post graduate studies in economics at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa, his father suffered a health crisis and Tom returned to the family business full time. Eventually he opened the Davenport branch of The Camera Corner which he operated until his death. He loved his work and all the people he met there through the years. Although Tom had a sharp mind for business and always appreciated finding a good bargain, he will be remembered for his great generosity by his family and friends. r years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and scooters along the intercoastal waters near his Clearwater, Florida, retirement home. He fell in love with this beautiful section of the gulf coast as a young boy visiting the undeveloped area with his grandfather Leroy "Luke" Nelson, one-time publisher of the Muscatine Journal. Tom was a devoted son, brother and uncle. He will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. He is survived by a sister, Holly Riha and husband, Kevin, and their children, Kelsey, Lauren and Daniel, in Waseca, Minnesota; and a brother, Joseph Fitzpatrick and wife, Jane, and their children, Megan, Kaitlin and Devin, in Glendale, California. Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
