Brooke Sutherland

Brooke Marie Sutherland was born on August 23, 1979, in Mankato, Minnesota to Robert and Susan (Miller) Sutherland, Jr. As a child, Brooke lived in Jeffers, Pennock and Moorhead where she received her education in several schools before receiving her high school education at Storden-Jeffers High School. She was baptized at the Jeffers United Methodist Church in Jeffers and later confirmed in that same church on May 7, 1995. As an adult, Brooke lived in Rochester and Pipestone before settling in Willmar. She received her Associate of Arts Degree in Chemical Dependency from Ridgewater College and was currently studying online through Argosy working towards her Bachelor Degree in Psychology. In 2011, Brooke was united in marriage to Jason Werner. This marriage was later dissolved. Through the years, Brooke worked at various assisted living facilities serving the mentally and physically disabled. She began at Divine House in Willmar as a staff member in October of 2001 and was most recently working as a program coordinator at Divine House for a total of 12 years. are at the Windom Area Hospital in Windom, Minnesota and passed away there on July 19, 2013, at the age of 33 years. Brooke was a member of the Jeffers United Methodist Church where she was involved in Sunday school and UMYF. Brooke loved camping, music, reading and watching movies. She enjoyed spending time with family and close friends; especially with nieces Ali, Natalie and step-daughter Zoey. She lived life with zest and accepted Jesus Christ as a teenager, willing to visit with anyone, anytime about her Christian beliefs. Brooke's beliefs and personality made her as beautiful inside as she was on the outside. She had a kind word and beautiful smile always welcoming people into her life. Brooke is survived by her mom, Susan Miller of Jeffers; father, Robert Sutherland, Jr. of Sauk Centre; step-daughter, Zoey Theobald of Fairmont; three siblings, Brady Sutherland of Jeffers; Bridget Sutherland of Minneapolis; Brandon (Angie) Sutherland of New London; two nieces, Ali Sutherland of Jeffers; Natalie Sutherland of New London; grandparents, Alton (Betty) Miller of Redwood Falls; Robert Sutherland, Sr. of Windom; Connie (Laverne) Breuer of Windom; and several aunts, uncles and friends. Brooke is preceded in death by her grandma, Alice Miller and aunt, Debbie Lake. Blessed be the memory of Brooke Sutherland. Memorials are preferred.
