his honorable discharge, he returned home to the Seymour area where he worked for the Highline Company from 1947 to the early 1950's. He then moved to Maquoketa where he worked at Clinton Engines as a supervisor until its closing. Lastly, he worked for John Deere on the assembly line, first in Dubuque and then in Moline. He also farmed in Monmouth from 1964 to 2003. Lloyd was a member of the Maquoketa VFW Post #3633 O'Connor-Regenwether, Maquoketa Masonic Helion Lodge #36 AF & AM, the Eagles Club in Maquoketa, and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oxford Junction. Lloyd loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, farming and traveling to Florida every year with Marjorie. Those left to honor Lloyd's memory include his wife, Marjorie Van Dorn of Clarence, IA; children, Bill (Pat) Van Dorn of Chariton, IA, Laura (Gregory) Boeding of Rochester, IA, Jim (Helen) Van Dorn of Dixon, IA, Deborah Van Dorn of Monmouth, IA, Michelle (and friend Joy) Tredway of Des Moines, IA, and Sherry Streets of Springville, IA; 5 step-children, Dennis (Ethel) Winger, Jerry (Mary) Winger, Terry (Denise) Winger, Richard (Anne) Winger and Cindy (Doug) Westphal; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 13 step-grandchildren, 12 step-great-grandchildren; and a step-brother, Marvin (Oasie) Sharp of Corydon, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Arvilla, his second wife Dorothy, a son Lloyd, brothers Robert, Neal and William, and sisters Virginia and Pauline.
