Dorothy "Dottie" L. Dillon was cradled into our Lord's arms Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, surrounded by her family in Kingman, AZ. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, August 16, 2013 at Fairfield Cemetery (Rock Branch) in Woodbury County, IA. Local arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE. Dorothy was born June 30, 1929 in Sioux City, IA to George Dale Manson and Millie Mae (Siefke) Manson. She graduated from Correctionville High School at 16. She moved to Chicago, IL and married Lee Dillon July 3, 1947. Dorothy became stepmother to Daniel Lee Dillon. Together they had Barbara Lee, Gayle Michele and Cynthia Marie. While living in Illinois, she was a school secretary and assistant teacher. The family moved to California where Dorothy was a bookkeeper for their trucking company and for Rite-A-Way Trucking. Lee and Dorothy divorced, but remained friends. Dorothy moved to Kingman, AZ, where she cared for Lee until his death in 1996. She cared for Cindy until her death in 2001. Dorothy enjoyed life in Kingman with her friends, family and activities. She enjoyed Bingo, the Copper Toppers playing cards and games, and the occasional trip to Laughlin, NV for her coconut shrimp dinners. Welcoming her home were her parents; sister, Phyllis; stepson, Daniel; daughter, Cindy; and sons-in-law Terry and Jerry. Dorothy is survived by her brother, James Manson (Lillian) of IA; daughters, Barbara Lee Dillon-Tucker and Gayle Michele Dillon-Hager (Michael) of CA; grandchildren, Jerry (Diane) Tucker, Daniel (Belle) Hager, Robert Hager, Nicholas Hager and Michael Hager of CA; David Bock, Dennis Bock and Cori Bock-Thompson, of AZ; great-grandchildren, Cassidie and Christina of AZ and Zachary and Timothy of CA. She is also survived by nieces, Jean and Christy of IA, Suzy of OK; a nephew, Terry of KS. In Kingman she is survived by nieces, Jean and Diane (Phil); and let's not forget her ever-present pal, Charlie.
