Lois Ann Melton

Lois Ann Melton, 80, of Bellevue, Iowa, and formerly of Maquoketa, Iowa, died on Thursday, August 22, 2013, at her home in Bellevue, Iowa. Friends and family may gather for "One Last Gathering"® in remembrance of Lois on Sunday, August 25, 2013, from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. in "The Bistro" at the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Burial will be in the Bridgeport Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, at a later date. Lois Ann Melton was born on February 18, 1933, in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Howard and Opal (Elliott) Gibson. She grew up in Maquoketa and was educated in Maquoketa schools. Lois had worked for Goodwill Industries in Des Moines as chief pricer and supervisor for 15 years. She then worked as a volunteer/manager for Maquoketa Community Services for 13 years. Lois enjoyed volunteering and donating her time and talent to Maquoketa Community Services. She also enjoyed quilting, going to garage sales, jigsaw and crossword puzzles and cooking, especially her coffee cakes.
