Terry David Hunt

Terry David Hunt, 76 of Nevada passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Lake Harris Rehab Center in Leesburg, Florida. A memorial celebration will be held at a later date. His cremains will be interred next to his brother Hollis in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Terry was born on March 17, 1937 in Nevada to Mearl Elden and Ruth (Boynton) Hunt. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1955 and Iowa State University in 1959 with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering. On December 21, 1956, Terry was united in marriage in Nevada to Carole Thompson. He worked for Borg-Warner Chemicals in Parkersburg WVA starting in 1962 as a production engineer. In 1973, Terry was transferred to Borg-Warner Chemicals Europe as Vice President of Operations in Brussels Belgium. He returned to Parkersburg WVA in 1978 as Vice President Chemicals and President of Specialty Chemicals. Terry retired from Borg-Warner in 1988 when the company was acquired by General Electric. Carole and Terry moved back to Nevada after he retired where he spent several years gardening and traveling with his grandchildren. s survived by his wife Carole; his children Sterling (Jodie) Hunt all of Nevada; Stuart (Laura) Hunt of Willis MI, Bryan (Angie) Hunt of Argenta, IL, Carole Lynn Hunt of Des Moines, and Timothy Hunt of Belpre, OH; eleven grandchildren; two sisters, JoAnn Hunt of Nevada and Fran Colyer of Tucson, AZ; many nieces and nephews. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Eldon, Keith, and Hollis Hunt, two sisters Margo Houg and Barbara Clay. A memorial fund has been established in loving memory of Terry for the Nevada Community School Foundation Class of 1955. Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with the local memorial arrangements for Terry.
