Calvin Fisher MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Calvin Coolidge Fisher, 87, of Novinger, Missouri, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Lutheran Homes in Muscatine. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Military rites will be provided by the combined units of the VFW Post 1565 and the American Legion Post #27. Following military rites, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Grace Lutheran Church, 2107 Cedar Street, Muscatine. Visitation will be held from 2 until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Calvin's name. Calvin was born on May 24, 1926, in LeClaire, the son of John and Hazel Gilbert Fisher. Calvin proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was stationed in the Japanese Harbor during the signing of the peace treaty and had served aboard the USS Allen S. Sumner. On November 16, 1947, Calvin was united in marriage to Joann M. Reinhold. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Joann Fisher of Novinger, Missouri; five children, Ken Fisher and wife, JoAnne, of Muscatine, Cal Fisher and wife, Suzy, of Kentucky, Jeanette Billingsley and husband, Jim, of Wilton, Steve Fisher of Wichita, Kansas, and Bob Fisher of Walcott; six grandchildren, Jackie Conry, Jeremiah Fisher, Kristy Healey, Amy Willhoite, Jason Cadogan, and Emily Fisher; 15 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Jack Fisher and wife, Martha, of Selma, Dorothy Lister of East Moline, Illinois, and Bill Fisher and wife, Pat, of LeClaire. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Hazel Dykes; and one brother, Richard Fisher.
