r her, because it combined her love of auto sports with her passion for travel and excitement. Eventually she took a new position with the Miami Herald in its advertising department, and rose to a managerial level, and was named Employee of the Year in 2000. At the Herald, she was very highly regarded, and counted many friends among her co-workers and colleagues. When the commute to downtown Miami became too much, Carolyn accepted a position with the American Associates of Ben-Gurion University, the fund-raising arm of Ben-Gurion University of Beersheva, Israel. Her organizational skills and engaging personality helped the Hollywood office of the organization consistently achieve its fund-raising goals. Carolyn passed away suddenly, after a brief illness, on Tuesday, October 1, 2013. She is survived by her husband, Steven A. Mason, of Cooper City, her daughter, Breanna Weymer, of Raleigh, NC, her two beloved grandchildren, the twins, Tyler and Johanna, her brother, Grant Rogers, of Adamstown, PA, and her sister, Jennie Rogers, of Marietta, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Chris Rogers Gordon, and her brother, James Rogers. Services are scheduled for Sunday, October 6, 2013, at 1:30 p.m., at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood. Interment will be at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 St. Rd. 7, Lake Worth, FL, on Monday, October 7, 2013, at 1:15 p.m.
