Effie A. Myers
Effa (Effie) Agnes Vosberg Myers was born on November 11, 1915, in Rosehill Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota to the late William and Lydia (Comnick) Vosberg. At the age of 3, she moved with her parents and sibling to the family farm at Dovray, MN. Effie was baptized and confirmed in the Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Dovray, by Reverend E.S. Estem. Effie lived on the family farm until she was united in Holy Matrimony with Amos Albert Myers in Westbrook, MN. To the union one daughter was born, Ruth Elaine. Amos died February 16, 1936. Effie and Ruth then moved to Slayton. Effie was united in Holy Matrimony to Frank Myers, Sr. on May 8, 1943, in Currie, MN. They later moved to Westbrook, Where Effie worked at the local egg plant. The family then moved to Windom. Effie also worked at Tony Downs in St. James and the Butterfield plant. When Effie's family grew, she became a stay at home mom and did housework and babysat. Frank died on April 6, 2003. 97 years. Effie was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Windom. She also loved to work in the garden with her flowers and vegetables, watch the birds at her bird feeder and embroidering and crocheting. Effie's family of 3 daughters and 2 sons include: Ruth (Milford-Slim) Sinnamon of Jeffers, MN; Arlene (Rose) (Ken) Dehmlow of Jordan, MN; Frank Myers, Jr. of Bingham Lake, MN; Ethel Myers of Windom, MN; John (Connie) Myers of Bingham Lake, MN; 16 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Edna Bosler of Tell City, IN; Lucy (Levie) Jensen of California; Polly Wright of Clinton, IA; and many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Effie is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Amos and Frank Sr.; one granddaughter, Maria Myers; two grandsons, Jerry and Kim Sinnamon; one great-great-granddaughter, Melanie Hansen; three brothers and three sisters.
