Peggy Lea Clausen

Peggy Lea Clausen, 63 of Colo died on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2 in the Memorial Lutheran Church, 701 11th Street in Nevada with Pastor David R. Burling officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 1 from 5-7:00 p.m. again at the Memorial Lutheran Church. Burial of the cremains will be held at a later date in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Oakland next to her grandparents, Fred and Edna Fritz. Peggy was born on April 19, 1950 in Oakland to Wayne C. and Ferne M. (Peterson) Fritz. She graduated from Oakland High School and received an Associate Degree in Nursing and Medical Technology. Peggy also received an advanced nursing degree from Grandview College in Des Moines. She was employed as a nurse at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames for over 25 years. Peggy enjoyed being a member of the church and bell choir. She was passionate about her family, music, quilting, traveling, and volunteering. Peggy was preceded in death by her father on June 7, 2013 and her mother in 1975. A memorial fund has been established in loving memory of Peggy for the Memorial Lutheran Sound System. Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Peggy and her family.
