Donna Jean McDonald, 67, of Tipton, died Saturday, November 2, 2013 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. Visitation services will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2013 beginning at 10 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church followed by the funeral service mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 11 AM in Tipton, IA. Father Hitch will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Rock Island National Cemetery within the Rock Island Arsenal near the city of Rock Island, Illinois. Donna Jean McDonald was born July 30, 1946 in Davenport, Iowa. She was born to Beauford and Margaurit (Graves) Curtis. She attended San Juan High School in Citrus Heights, California. She married Daniel McDonald on October 7, 1964 in Davenport, IA at St. Josephs of Davenport, IA. She was a housewife, working various jobs in the early years of her life. Most recently she worked at ACT part-time for about 3 years doing seasonal work. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tipton, IA. to anything with a beat. She loved to cook but she also loved to eat. She was a very strong woman who believed firmly in going to church and would always say the rosary. Donna was wonderful, caring and extremely forgiving. She will be greatly missed. Donna is survived by her Daughters, Teralyn (Ron) Matthess of West Branch, IA, Donna (Jeff) Hoenig of Tipton, IA; Sons, Daniel (Deb) McDonald II of Tipton, IA, Curtis (Joanna) McDonald of Tipton, IA, Joe (Diane) McDonald of Tipton, IA, Randy (Jeanine) McDonald of Tipton, IA, and Jake (Becky) McDonald of Centerville, IA; 27 Grandchildren; 2 Great-Grandchildren; Sister, Linda Marie Curtis of Galesburg, IL; Brother, Norman (Linda Kay) Curtis of Oneida, IL; Sister-In-Law, Joyce Curtis of Oquawka, IL; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Beauford and Margaurit (Graves) Curtis; Husband, Daniel McDonald, who passed away October 12, 2011; Son, Greg McDonald, who passed shortly after on December 25, 2011; and Brother, Terry Curtis.
