Reta Marie Manning

Reta M. Manning, 82, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at the Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, in Davenport, Iowa. A celebration of Reta's life will be held at 11:30 A.M., Saturday, November 9, 2013, from the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 to 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 9, 2013 from the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Burial will be at the Union Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, Iowa. Reta Marie McCloy was born on July 11, 1931 in Jackson County, Iowa, to William and Bernice (Risden) McCloy. She was educated in Jackson County country schools, and married Earnest Manning in Maquoketa, Iowa. Reta was a homemaker and had worked as a cook at WAKA Restaurant in Maquoketa for many years. She enjoyed going to the riverboat and playing bingo. She was well-known for her baking skills with pies and fried chicken as two of the family favorites.
