Leona V. Hellman

Leona Victoria (Goche) Hellman was born November 4, 1932, to Leo and Erma (Kahler) Goche in Bancroft. She graduated from St. John's Catholic High School the class of 1951. On May 14, 1957, she married Arthur F. Hellman at St. John's Catholic Church in Bancroft. Leona and Arthur farmed southeast of Bancroft and moved into town in 1993. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, and gardening. She was a member of the St. John's Altar Society and the American Legion Auxiliary and the National Order of Foresters. Leona enjoyed being with her family especially her grandchildren. Leona V. Hellman died at the Heritage Nursing Home in Bancroft on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the age of 81. She entered the nursing home on July 17, 2008. She is survived by three children, MaryAnn Bormann and her husband Paul, Philip Hellman and his wife Pennie, and June Menke and her husband William E., all of Bancroft; and 10 grandchildren, Jesse, Kimberly, Katie, Kelly, and Becky Bormann, McKenzie and Brett Hellman, and Sharon, Angel, and Jill Menke.
