Gerald Dean McKinney DAVENPORT, Iowa--Gerald Dean McKinney, 77, of Davenport, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at Manor Care on Locust Street in Davenport. Graveside Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 29, 2013, at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, with military rites conducted by the Rock Island Vietnam Veterans of America #299. Those wishing to attend the graveside service should meet at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary on Friday at 9:15. Gerald was born on April 18, 1936, in Muscatine, the son of James and Jeffie Eblen McKinney. He married Mary Ann Gordon in 1958, in Muscatine. He served in the U.S Army during the Vietnam Era. Gerald worked for HJ Heinz as District Manager out of the Chicago Branch, then as a food broker for Iowa Illinois Sales. He retired in 1998. Gerald enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid Hawkeye Fan. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann McKinney of Davenport; sons, Jerry McKinney and wife, Lisa, of Calamus, and Greg McKinney and wife, Sandra, of Donahue; four grandchildren, Jason, Jim, Matt, and Bret; and one great-grandchild, Lydia.
