Kimberly Fischer

Kimberly Fischer, of Summit Lake, died Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Langlade Hospital under the care of her family and LeRoyer Hospice. She was 40 years old. She was born on July 1, 1973 in Antigo, a daughter of LaVern "Sonny" and Linda (Ubert) Eckardt, Jr. She married Daniel Fischer on June 13, 1998 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Elcho. He survives. She was a graduate of Elcho High School with the class of 1991. She attended the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh for two years and received an associates degree as a surgical technician from North Central Technical College in Wausau. For the past 20 years she was employed at St. Mary Hospital in Rhinelander as a certified surgical technician and certified first surgical assistant. She was giving of her time and talents and in 2010 went on the Faith in Practice mission trip to Guatemala to provide medical and surgical help to their residents. Mrs. Fischer volunteered with the local girl scout troop and taught religious education at Holy Family Catholic Church where she was a member. nd parents are a daughter Allison Fischer at home; a brother Jim Eckardt, Chippewa Falls; a sister Jennifer (Craig) Wilhelm, Phlox; father and mother-in-law - Michael and Sharon Fischer of Koepenick; her paternal grandmother Josephine Eckardt, Kempster. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Joseph and Dorothy Ubert and paternal grandfather, LaVern Eckardt, Sr. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Elcho with Rev. Jeremiah Worman officiating. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery at Summit Lake. Visitation will be 3:30 - 7 p.m. on Friday at the Bradley Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. until the time of services Saturday at church.
