Lloyd Eichenberger

Lloyd Robert Eichenberger was born December 17, 1921, in Bancroft, son of Robert and Mamie (Priebe) Eichenberger. He was baptized at the home of his parents on September 3, 1922, and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bancroft. He grew up on a farm north of Bancroft graduating from Bancroft High School in 1940. Lloyd served his country in the United States Army from 1942 until being honorably discharged in November, 1945. He was stationed in Italy. He was united in marriage to Helen Bergum on November 28, 1948, in Bancroft. Lloyd and Helen farmed in the Lakota and Bancroft area. He loved being with his family and going to his children's and grandchildren's activities. Lloyd also enjoyed taking his family on vacations each summer and especially to the mountains. He was a 4-H leader for many years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lakota serving on the church council, and he also served on the Lakota School board for 20 years being president for 14 years. by his wife of 65 years, Helen of Lakota; five children, Lowell (Marilyn) Eichenberger of Lakota, Lloyd (Linda) Eichenberger of Lakota, Lisa Eichenberger of North Mankato, MN, Lon (Martha) Eichenberger of Brewster, MN, and Larry (Kimberly) Eichenberger of Lakota; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 4 step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Lucille Reese of Tucson, AZ; a brother, Walter (Bernice) Eichenberger of Johnston; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Loren in infancy; a great-grandchild; and three brothers, Ernest, Bernard, and Robert.
