Phyllis Jean St. John

Phyllis Jean St. John, 82, of Fort Dodge passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at her home from complications from a fall in November. Memorial services will be 7:00 PM Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Austin Hill officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Saturday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Phyllis is survived by her husband, Clarence; children, Linda Ulstad of Fort Dodge, Steve St. John of Fort Dodge and Jeff St. John of Savannah, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Janelle Carstensen, Allison Zuspann, Josh St. John, Jessica St. John, Jaci Fergison, Jenny Fergison and Jill Silcott; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Alice Hanks of Pacific Palisades, California and Lois Rost of Fort Dodge. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Marge Baker. Phyllis Jean Hedrick, the daughter of Bill and Mollie (Redemske) Hedrick, was born February 28, 1931 in Lu Verne, Iowa and graduated from Lu Verne High School in 1949. O' Lakes retiring in 1996. Over the years, Phyllis enjoyed traveling with friends and family, gardening and having good times with her daily morning coffee group. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren's activities. She loved to attend and watch all sports. Phyllis was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fort Dodge.
