Mr. George Marquardt, of Saukville, passed away Wednesday morning, January 15, 2014 at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon. He was 73 years old. George was born February 22, 1940 in LaCrosse, the son of Martin and Nina Fish Marquardt. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1958-1963. On June 15, 1963, he was united in marriage with Pam Guist in Minneapolis, MN. George was a registered consulting engineer. He was a member of First Congregational Church, and a lifetime charter member of North Shore Marine Corps League Detachment #1289. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening and woodworking. George is survived by his wife Pam of Saukville and their three daughters: Karen (David Jr.) Magnusson, Michele Marquardt, both of Saukville, and Heather Marquardt (Jordan Baumgart) of Madison. He is further survived by 6 grandchildren: Laura (Doug), Crystal, David III (Samantha), John (Sherri), Victoria and Jack, 5 great-grandchildren, sister Diana (Bob) Krug of Erin, mother-in-law DeDe Guist, sister-in-law Kathi (Jim) Hinrichs-Pence, both of Oak Park Heights, MN, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 3PM at First Congregational Church, 131 N. Webster St., Port Washington. Full military honors will be held following the service. The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday from 1-3PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the North Shore Marine Corps League Detachment.
