He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew F. and Almina (Donohoe) McNeilly; brothers, James, Richard, John, Kenneth, Edward, Leo, and Thomas McNeilly. Robert T. McNeilly was born November 22, 1920 in Waterloo, Iowa. As a young child the family moved to Fort Dodge. He attended schools here and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1938. From 1942 to 1945 Bob served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII where he earned the rank of Sergeant. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Fort Dodge. On August 18, 1945 he was united in marriage to Mary Eleanor Lochray at Sacred Heart Church and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge where they were lifelong residents. Bob was employed at J.C. Peterson Clothing until 1963. From 1963 to 1972 he was employed as the Men's Department Manager at Gates Department Store. In 1972 he joined the staff at Charles A. Brown Inc. Bob and Eleanor were longtime parishioners at Sacred Heart Church where he was Eucharistic Lay Minister. The couple had celebrated 68 years of marriage last August. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials may be left to Friendship Haven and Holy Trinity Parish.
