Ruth Evelyn Bell ALEDO, Illinois--Ruth Evelyn Bell, 91, of Aledo, formerly of Illinois City, died on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Genesis Senior Living Center in Aledo. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2014, at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial will take place in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service on Thursday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to Genesis Senior Living Center's Activity Fund. Ruth was born on October 8, 1922, in Oxford, Indiana, the daughter of Herbert and Elizabeth Bell Nichols. She graduated from Otterbein High School. Ruth married Albert L. Bell on November 7, 1940 in Goodland, Indiana. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1973. She was a homemaker and after Albert's death she became a cook at Maid Rite in Muscatine, Iowa. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed flowers, gardening and country and western music. She is survived by one daughter, Agnes Adams and husband, Jim, of Aledo, Illinois; two sons, Tom Bell and wife, Patsy, of Taylor Ridge, Illinois, and Mark Bell and wife, Doris, of Reynolds, Illinois; seven grandchildr...[more]
