Andrew J. "Andy" Holan II, 65, of West Burlington, died 6:12 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2014, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born September 4, 1948 in Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of Andrew Holan Sr. and Sylvia (Phillips) Cook. He married Debbie Smithson; they later divorced.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Holan was a machine operator at Federal - Mogul, retiring in 2013. He also worked for Toledo Blank and Con Rail in Toledo. He enjoyed having a beer, going to the casino, swimming, relaxing and soaking up the sun, camping, watching WWE wrestling and football. He treasured his time spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his ex-wife and friend, Debbie Holan of Burlington; one son, Anthony Holan of West Burlington; one daughter, Andrea Holan of Burlington; two granddaughters, Taylor Holan Neff and Reese Richardson and one brother, Doug (Sandra) Holan of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no formal funeral service or visitation. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. According to his wishes, cremation has been entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
