Mr. Rick "Bill" Scott, 64, of Burlington died at 2:48 p.m. Monday, February 17, 2014, at his home. Born August 28, 1949 in Burlington, he was the son of Dwight and Betty Wilbur Scott. On June 20, 1970 he married Linda Williams. They later divorced. In August of 1993 he met the love of his life Julie Reusch. Mr. Scott was a 1967 graduate of Union High School and attended the University of Illinois in 1968. He was a Marine Corps veteran serving from 1969 - 1973 as an air traffic controller. Mr. Scott worked at I.A.A.P. From 1974 - 1977 and then worked in the engineering department for the City of Burlington from 1977 until his retirement in 2011. Mr. Scott was a member of the Eagles Aerie 150 and enjoyed golf, vacationing in national parks, skiing, attending Bees baseball games and was an avid Denver Broncos and Illinois fan. He loved spending time with his family and friends. ado; one brother, Les (Sue) Scott of Greeley, Colorado; two sisters, Sharon Scott of Riverside, California and Teri Murphy of Yucaipa, California; and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, Dwight Scott, one aunt, and one uncle. The celebration of life for Mr. Scott will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 22nd, at Lunning Chapel with Mr. Mark McBride officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until the time of service on Saturday. The Hamilton-Walters Marine Corps League will conduct military rites. A memorial has been established for the National Parks Foundation. According to Mr. Scott's wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
